Fast food places are taking a major hit in incoming revenue because of the mere fact that people are deciding to stay home and eat in. People are stocking up on food and household items to ensure that they do not have to eat out. Many people are fearful to go out because the coronavirus has been spreading at a rapid rate in the U.S. and worldwide. Staying home reduces the risk of contracting the coronavirus, and ensures the safety of one’s family. A way that fast food places can continue to do well in light of the virus is to offer more affordable options and deals. This will encourage people to get fast food, and give them more of an incentive to get out. However, the media is highly encouraging people to stay home because it is the safest thing to do. So most likely people will forgo going out to eat. It is important that fast food places provide a healthy working environment in order to maintain business, because people do not want to eat out somehwere where it is dirty and unsanitary. This is because people are touching and preparing their food, so it is imperative that the employees are constantly washing their hands and making sure that the inside of their place is sanitary. Overall, fast food places are taking a major hit, and they need to ensure that they have healthy and sanitary working conditions to reduce the risk of customers and their employees becoming ill.
